Bandera - The Cowboy Capital of the World

As soon as the brown suede boot design came into my mind, I knew straight away that I wanted to name this boot Bandera.

'Bandera's title, “Cowboy Capital of the World” originated when it became a staging area for the last great cattle drives of the late 1800's. Confirming Bandera as the “Cowboy Capital of the World”, a bronze monument honoring the many National Rodeo Champions who call Bandera home, stands on the Courthouse lawn.' - Banderacowboycapital.com

I have been visiting my Dad in Texas for over 20 years, meaning I have seen a lot of The Lone Star State. Bandera has always been one of my favourite towns to visit. I love the small, rustic feel to the town as well as the independent, western boutiques and unique eateries.

Each boot design I have created is named after one of my favourite towns or cities in the US. Each one incredibly special to me in it's own way and has so many special memories attached, which is why the brand and each piece I launch means so much to me!

For anyone who hasn't visited this part of the world, there truly is nothing like it. Cowboys still ride their horses to the bars and tie them up outside while they have a drink, it really is like something out of the movies.

Because Texas is so huge, there are so many different styles of towns and cities. From the beaches, the big cities, to these tiny cowboy/ranch towns like Bandera.

'The cowboys and cowgirls here dance the Texas Two-Step and waltz and will gladly teach you to do the same.'

I knew that I wanted to add extra western detailing on the Bandera boot style, inspired by the wooden buildings and the classic cowboy boot stitching, I always want each boot style to be fun and modern but with aspects of classic western boots.

Which city will the next launch be inspired by?

Is Bandera on your list of places to visit?

Until next time, thank you as always, Jess x
